Events to choose from at St Barnabas Hospice on Morton Front.
Firstly an important date change. For all who come to The Candle Day service at the local Hospice Day Therapy Centre on Morton Front, Gainsborough, the date for this is now 11 APRIL at 1000 and not 18 April. Now to events past and future. The Wine and Wisdom held recently was great fun and people were very sharp and quick to answer, and a great deal of fun was had by all. Do look out for another one in the Autumn and get those brains in gear. Next we have a coffee morning on 16 March, all are welcome. Then a Golf Competition to be held at Gainsborough’s magnificent Golf Course on Thursday April 3, this includes coffee on arrival and delicious carvery meal. For all Golf enthusiasts, no matter if you are not Rory McIlroy, come and enjoy yourself. Ring Kay Chambers 01522 540300 for information etc. Attention all keen gardeners , there is a Plant Sale at the Summer Fair to be held on Sunday 25 May at the Gainsborough Hospice, Morton Front. Donations of plants, homemade cakes and home grown produce would be very much appreciated. It starts at 11am till 2pm. This has been very successful in the past, and even though the weather has been against us lately, a glimmer of warmer weather is round the corner, so get those plant pots filled and bring as many as you can spare to us – thank you. Take time to sit in the Hospice Garden with coffee/tea and cakes and admire the wooden sunflowers that are displayed in memory of loved ones. This is our Spring/Summer appeal and if you haven’t already done so you too can make a donation to St Barnabas and personalise your own sunflower and take it home with you as a momento at this event. Our Sunflowers are planted within the Hospice Grounds across the County for the entire month of June. Now a heads up to Children and Adults – we are holding a Doggy Walk, called Paws for a Cause. This is advance information and more will be published in May’s edition of your magazine. It is held on Wednesday 11 June with a 6.30pm start. For all these events please contact Kay Chambers on 01522 540300 for more information etc. Watch out for May’s edition of Morton Community Magazine, there will be more information for St Barnabas’s Bike Blast!
